I never felt like I never got along with my managers we always understood each other and if there was a miss understanding we would always talk about it and make sure that we would understand both are situations or what was going on what was happening and that always help.

Pros

The positive interaction between team members, management and the excellent standard of customer service.

Cons

There was no particular area that I can say I disliked.. I was really aware of the job elements.

How did this career prepare you?

I was exposed to all areas of Customer service delivery and learnt great hand on experience as no two customers were alike and each has to receive individual service attention.

I really respected the professional relationship displayed and the work knowledge that they shared with all employees.. They effectively answered all employee questions. They were great role models.

Suggestions for the CEO

I was sent to recover the men's clothing department... I found a rack of dress pants hanging from the rack but all touching the floor as the rack was fixed too low. I told a manager who immediately agreed and got maintenance to adjust the rack higher. The Manager did thank me.

Job Duties

Great customer service, handling cash counts and register duties, beauty knowledge and makeup application skills, re-stocking areas of pride and keeping a clean environment. Also opening credit accounts, and clienteling. And calling clients regarding beauty events and handling presale events in a timely manner.

All the customer service experience I have gained has prepared me greatly for Apple.

Cons

The hours were my least favorite aspect, I would have loved more however I understand that there are many associates working for maces and hours need to be fairly distributed.

My job duties were to fulfill a sales goal daily while impacting customers positively and assuring they were happy at the end of the day when they left the store.

Summary

It was an amazing learning experience, it taught me to be comfortable selling to customers while gaining knowledge from them in order to find the right product for them.

Pros

Being able to use my creative side, even though we had plan-o-grams to follow, there were times where things had to be changed a little because of not having the correct merchandise.

Cons

I did have some issues with my schedule and school. My supervisor tried, he would always sit down with me before each semester and find out my availability, and when there were conflicts he always fixed them quickly, but it became an almost weekly occurrence.

I put out merchandise that would come in on the trucks, mainly I was the millennial merchandiser, which consisted of Impulse brands, Swim, and Active wear, but I also helped in any other department I was needed.

Summary

I loved it, I was sad to go because of all the wonderful people I had met and worked with, but I felt it was time.

Job Duties

I started as a sales associate in ladies ready to wear, then ladies shoes. Most recently I have been a beauty advisor for Chanel. My duties have included asking the customer targeted questions regarding her needs and then assisting her in finding the best products to suit those needs.

Summary

My time at macys has been very fulfilling. I dad previously held office and administrative positions and the transition to a retail environment has been very rewarding. I enjoy interacting with the guests and my fellow co-workers as well as striving to exceed the expectations and goals that my department managers and store managers set for me.

Job Duties

As a flyer, i had to relieve cashiers from varied departments. the position required cameleon like qualities. eventhough i didnt possess detailed product info, i was able to listen to the customer and a satisfy their needs. if i didnt know, i found out. macys policy was never tell the customer "i dont know"

I am looking for a job that is full time with benefits now that I am out of college.

Job Duties

Mostly sales; I spent a lot of time interacting with customers both in person and over the phone, though I was given a few extra duties here and there.

How did this career prepare you?

I worked with a lot of different people from all different backgrounds and walks of life, so I have learned to be patient with people. I have customer service experience and have developed what I like to think is a friendly demeanor.

Make a connections to multiple customers, asked open ended questions, give advice, inspire the customer to buy and celebrate the purchase in a way that will make the customer feel better about themselves for shopping at macys so that they can come back again. I have experience creating customer relationships that foster repeat business. I believe that I am selling them clothing that makes them feel good and look good therefor the leave happy and want to come back.I also have experience employee relationships. Both customer and employee relationships have been created by fostering confidence and self assurance and growth through genuine concern for there wellbeing.

Going into the cosmetic industry, I had never experienced any first hand cosmetic endeavors. Having no sisters, or direct females who could potentially relay information about cosmetics to me, I was surprised yet apprehensive to go into such an intricate and diverse work environment. However, through my aggressive consumption of knowledge in my department, I strived to learn all I could about each line so as to relay accurate and factual information to my customers and thus benefit my department and my store. Though the experience was negative from an exterior view in the beginning, I was able to remedy such by striving to learn more, sell more, and be more to the company and the product lines I was responsible for representing.

I was responsible for overseeing customer sales in my assigned department, being knowledgeable about several varying product lines, and assessing customer needs based on provided information.

Educational, beneficial, and essential to building the foundation I now hope to construct a career upon within the clinique corporation and the cosmetic field.

Appreciation, performance recognition, and team work cooperation.

Honestly, I liked everything while working at Marcy's because the management structure is great, in a sense that managers, supervisors, and fellow colleagues were so helpful, cooperative, and supportive.

Working with Marcy's was such a great work experience I experienced. Thereby, as a sales associate will make sure customers receive the best customer service and customer satisfaction is delivered at your company. In addition, this will also help I to work and complete assigned tasks on time at your company.

I was let go due to a discrepancy

Job Duties

I worked in the Accessories department. I assisted customers in purchasing their item and suggesting a complementary item as well.

How did this career prepare you?

The fast paced environment , I was able to adapt to certain situations whether it was a fast day or unruly customer. I was able to accomplish my tasks that needed to be done while giving great customer service.

I feel i got along with my managers pretty well. We were pretty open with each other, so if there was something i needed to work on, then they would let me know of their critic and I was able to take their critic into consideration

While I was starting my job, I wasn't the best employee. However with further coaching I was able to hone in on my skills and give better customer service. Able to make the purchasing rocess faster and easier for them

I was offered a full time position a year into working with macys. Also during the holiday season I was able to get more responsibility and worked in the fine jewelry department. The year I was let go, if I would have stayed, I was up to become a manager in training for the holiday season.

Looking for a more creative and entrepreneurial role.

Job Duties

I was able to really get my hands in everything that encompasses a successful retail business. My duties included product procurement, assortment planning, sales forecasting, markdown and pricing strategy, site merchandising, marketing analytics and vendor management.

Macys. Com was a true learning ground to build a strong foundation in merchandising and buying skills. My analytical skills along with my savvy of the retail industry makes me the perfect candidate for this role.
