I started out as a pre-loader for the trucks. Which consisted of loading the appropriate packages into the appropriate package cars. However, after six months I was promoted to a part time supervisor due to excellent performance. In my current position my job duties involve training new employees in proper loading methods as well as safety protocol. I perform daily scans of the loaded trucks to check for misloaded packages which could cost the company money.

I get along great with my managers. They are stern when it comes to getting the job done the correct way and they know that I am always up for a challenge.

Suggestions for the CEO

I have improved on my social skills. I used to be very shy when first meeting people and I would only speak if spoken to. Working there around so many different people has showed me that to get your name out there for people to regonize your hard work you have to open up.

Advancement opportunities

Yes, I was offered numerous positions to become a supervisor but I declined the opportunity. I declined because my schooling would not allow me to take these positions. I would not get out of school in time to make it to work at the time that a supervisor would need to be there.

How did this career prepare you?

Well, I started as a driver helper and then was hired as an unloader. Within six months I went to driving school and made it as a TCD driver. I drove for a couple of years then became a pre-load part-time supervisor. An OMS position became available working the evening shift. I would be working with the drivers and routes, something I was familiar with. So, I would say I moved around a bit to get to know the business and I want my next stop to be a full-time supervisor.
