I was teller, so I was responsible for handling my own cash drawer and balancing it at the end of the day, also taking deposits and withdrawals and any other banking needs they needed help with.

I was in charge of alot of different aspects. Managing the entire loan process. The mai point of contact for the client. I was in charge of all outreach and business contacts for my job. So I needed to make sure that I scheduled time for networking, attending industry events and general schmoozing.

I disliked the sales aspect. I would enjoy assisting a customers with their actual needs instead of forcing various products on a customer.

Helping customers succeed financially by assisting with their financial needs
Providing for the team, helping out the team, challenging myself to meet metrics.

If anything, the major thing I disliked most was lack of providing necessary feedback which would have helped employees perform at a higher level.

It helped me prepare by engaging in consultative custotmer service and technicial support with online banking. It prepared me to be able to effectively manage customer concerns and inquiries of issues with varying complexity and allowed me to adapt to customers with different levels of technical knowledge.

I want to use my business degree that I worked very hard to achieve. I want a job with a challenge and that allows me to grow my potential. I think Valspar will allow me to do that.

How did this career prepare you?

I guess the main way it has prepared me is building relationship with all types of people. I have built relationships with realtors, attorneys, insurance agents and many more. I have had to give presentations to realtors on why they should use Wells Fargo instead of other companies. I also had to prioritize my schedule to meet with different clients to keep my productivity up. I think all of this experience will allow me to succeed as a territory manager.

Helping clientele succeed and prosper financially by being able to offer products and services that helps them.

Cons

The size of the corporation. Being zoo big, there is high turnover of personnel and management, making it hard to develop relationships with partners and management, which trickles down to just the quality of service I can offer to my business clientele.

Job Duties

Handle all the various types of financial transactions associated with Wells Fargo, this includes running credit, applying for cards, loans and lines, referring serves for payroll, merchant operations, as well as doing deposits, withdrawals and payments.

A great experience! I have been blessed to have had great management to help train and shape my foundation in customer service and sales. I excelled greatly at Wells and turned down various offers for promotions, I grew out of the banking industry and am ready to start my career in credit and finance with Deckers!

Pros

Being able to actually help someone by lowering there monthly payment or IR, or providing them with the cash necessary to pay for desired home improvements. Actually being able to help people was certainly the most rewarding aspect.

Why you left

90 days temp to hire, it was a great learning experience for me but it was not the right place for me.

I learned so much about sales, customer service and developing value for the customer. ALso I learned all about the ability and importance of being able to do business over the phone.

My manager was incredible busy, as a result he was relaitvley hands off, he was very positive and helpful when he was around but he had as many responsibilities as anyone in the building and his time was very valuable.

Suggestions for the CEO

Most of the SDC's were very helpful and all of them wanted to see you succeed, but one or 2 of them had a style of motivating you that more put you down and discouraged you then anything else, I think a few of the other new hires my have felt they werent working well enough or were inadequate as a result and left the position early.

Pros

A. Working with my team and helping them achieve their goals, building rapport and trust within the team. Creating an environment where they could share ideas and successes openly. Creating a visible presence with the realtors and builders in WNY. Wells Fargo became a presence in the community where it did not exist before. Teaching my team about programs that they were not utilizing could help increase their sales and deepen relationships.
b. When I joined the team in 2012, there was a lack of trust, structure and accountability with prior branch manager, significantly like 1:1 coaching, regular team sales meetings and ensuring that their pipeline was a priority and not my own agenda. In order to break down the “walls” that existed for many years, I had to earn this one step at a time, through 1:1 coaching sessions that provided an opportunity their trust by being Conducting weekly sales rally meetings where loan consultants were able to openly share successes.

Cons

A. Great question. There were two different originations systems that were being utilized; the goal was to migrate users to the new system. There was significant resistence to adapt, as they were comfortable with the status quo. I was hired learning only the new system, so first I needed to understand why the resistence. With 1:1 coaching, structured training and recognition of progress, we were able to move the needle from 10% usage to more than 60% usage of the new system.

A. Branch manager responsible for all aspects of consumer product mortgages branch originations. Set individual sales targets based on revenue goals, coached top performers, trained on new sales programs, administered performance management reviews, sales appointments with realtors, builders to help build their business through utilization of Wells Fargo loan programs, Pipeline management, Customer Loyalty, revenue and expense management, compliance, audit.

A. Mostly very positive, there was lots of hard work, long hours, working nights and weekends which resulted in restoring relationships, building new ones. The rapport and trust I developed with my team is something I am very proud of.

The most rewarding feeling while working at wells fargo is really getting to know are customers, inside and out. Giving customers peace of mind knowing there money is one less thing to stress about.

The thing I dislike most about Wells Fargo is that sometimes they forget that we are trying to help benifit are customers to are product to help them secceed financialy that all they care about is there sales numbers going up that we lose focuse on the customer.
