Working at Aetna:

Great managers, co-workers, and generous schedule flexibility. The downside is you're not going to find much in the way of career growth.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working at Aetna:

The other two postings on here must be great departments to work in. Really.

When you have a manger that calls you names even in emails, when your department manager backs up this behavior, and when your own HR says "hey, we'll look into it" and does nothing... then you really need to run.

This company boasts great ideas of what a company should be and they claim those as their "guiding principles" (aka "The Aetna Way"), but once you have a real issue on your hands they would rather continue down the wrong road and try to shut you down than to admit wrong has been done.

I'm not direct friends with the people that have been hurt by these issues because my department manager told me and my team in person... to our face, that it's best if we don't socialize with these "trouble-makers". Can you imagine? You try to report unfair treatment, bullying in the office, and your department manger tells your team to have nothing to do with you.

I did hear from people in the office that are friends with the one girl that she already has a lawsuit going. It's a shame that this is the type of example that we're all looking to.... the underdog to set things right.

If she's out there, I hope she knows we're secretly rooting for her!

Aetna Salary and Benefits:

Pay and vacation are decent, health insurance is awful (huge deductible $1,600 + per year before your plan pays for anything you'd really need insurance for). If you know how to keep your mouth shut and say "yes m'am" when you're being degraded, then this is the job for you!
