There are A MILLION things wrong with this company. First the owners of the company only have sales experience. They have no idea how to run a company, do lead generation, marketing, promoting, client relations, etc. They hire VP's who have no idea what they are doing which make it even worse.
They chose the wrong company to do the programming on their websites. So it's not on par with other media companies and there is only one person on the planet who knows how it even works because he programmed it. That person doesn't do anything with AIM anymore; so the website can break any day and there's nothing anyone can do.
AIM owes money to alot of people; from freelancers to Fortune 500 companies.
They promise things that they have no idea how to do just so they can make a sale. With no lead generation experience they promise their clients an excess of 300 leads per article/podcast. When they obviously can't deliver that they give the client fake leads and give them a free ad in the next issue of the magazine to keep them as a client. They are constantly looking for new clients because they can't keep the ones they already have. THEY CANNOT PROVIDE RETURN ON INVESTMENT FOR ANY COMPANY THEY WORK WITH!!!
They used to be partners with Gartner, Forrester, and IDC. And that stopped because they couldn't deliver and because of their shady dealings.
The employees are overworked and under-appreciated. You get paid about $20k below the New York standard. You are constantly working late to meet deadlines and do the extra stuff sales people promised the clients. (There were people offered $70K and turned it down because of all the work involved) You are treated like a hired hand on a farm instead of part of a company where your opinion matters. When I left AIM; my salary jumped up by $25,600 with less work.
Many employees including me have been yelled at on many occasions for things we warned them about in the first place.
IMI Forums had about 4 events and has not made a profit yet!!
They are shady with their partners and clients; not paying them, not delivering what was promised.
I could write a book about how all the stuff that goes on there.
