Pros - well, it's very glamorous, trips to Europe, USA, etc. Lots of great technology. Fantastic salaries offered to very young people (ideally fresh out of university/college). Roster of amazing big-name clients - banks, large media companies, UK government.
Cons - if you don't have a degree, then forget it. If you have some years of experience, forget it - they only want people very early in their careers who will not question the business model. If you want to understand the product, forget it - they will NOT train anyone except if you join as an engineer. Everyone else is told to say 'whatever you think will get the deal'...and then hope for the best later and that the client is dumb enough not to catch them out. Rules - lots and lots of rules. 5 new business meetings per week, EVERY week, no excuses. However, when not on client site (which could be anywhere in the UK or Europe, or even possibly USA for some people) you MUST be in the office. No homeworking. Work-life balance is an utterly alien concept, it's all about the numbers here. Because of the 5-meetings rule, you could never properly prepare for a client meeting and end up 'winging it'.
The management are terrifying - vicious and sneaky, and constantly stabbing each other in the back, as well as making employees miserable. Firings are constant, and the good employees simply resign and walk away, only to be replaced by more cannon fodder. There are no promotions and no pay rises - very few employees stay long enough for this to matter anyway! If you *do* manage to get into the 'inner circle', however, you're probably made for life. The senior management are very, very, VERY rich.
