WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working at Bank of America:

You have to really sell to your customers which feels overbearing at times. We do get work life balance which appreciated.

Bank Of America Salary and Benefits:

Salary is on the low side but benefits package is outstanding. Last year I earned roughly $40,000.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working at Bank Of America:

I have had teller experience about 10 years, took some time off and went back to the bank. It really has changed but i tell you i had to spend weeks doing training on a computer which was terrible training. then i had to go and work out front and the girls were just to busy to train you and spend any time with you. in the total time of a week i maybe did 20 transactions if that. How can you learn? When i trained to be a teller at my other bank I was shadowing a person then i was put on cash and worked 2 days straight with someone watching me and i was pretty confident. I think you are harassed and all they care about is not letting a customer wait in line. no wonder they cant balance. I am not impressed at all ....

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working at Bank of America:

Boa has some good things about it like they help pay for some of the cost of child care and they help with a down payment on your home. The bad part is the fact that they not train the managment well enough to do their jobs right. If you have a question they tell you to call a 1800 number. The management doesn't care if you have a life. If some one calls I sick they will blow up your phone trying to get you to come in. If you don't answer they will call your family to see where you are. There was a teller I the hospital on an EKG machine and they called every five minutes to see when she was coming into work. They never have the schedules out they will give you the schedule for sat and the following wk the day before. And if a customer has a high dolled amount with the bank the manager wants you "jump when she says jump" so serious she said it like that. And if if regular old Joe forget it he isn't getting any help from management.
The other people who work there are really sweet tho. If you work full time you still won't make it on your own. It way too stressful to stay

Bank Of America Salary and Benefits:

Pros: people you work with and customer are nice

Cons : managment doesn't know what they are doing

Vacation is decent even for part timers
you have to fight for sick time
hard to be promoted with in

Working at Bank of America:

I'm really trying hard to come up with the pros of working for this company, and can't think of any. Some would say, well...you have the weekends off and are home every night, I have worked EVERY saturday with the excetion of a couple. In order to get the Saturday off I HAD to have a valid reason, and in some cases, I had to work six days a weeek. The turnover is super high and even when short staffed ( throughout most of the year), the sales for the banking center are expected. Boa taked months to hire new employees, only for they stay until a better job comes along, or they choose to go back to an old job (the grass isn't always greener on the other side). As a teller there are sales goals, the company calls them referrals but once the time comes for a bonus, the pay is based on total sales value. Ex an opened checking accont is 200 points. The raises are a joke and upper management knows nothing. The big reason is they never did or were required to be a teller before becoming a banking center manager. Most of the managers are overpaid for reciting the same "motivational" sales speech which is passed down from corporate America. Unfortunately, that manager which doesn't know how to do your job is the same one who determines the money you'll receive throughout your career...(raises, bonuses and promotions). I am currently looking for a new job and could not be happier. I will no longer have to be accountable for 100,000 worth of commercial deposits on mondays for less than 20,000 a year bnase salary pay. Hope this helps for anyone considering a teller position with this company, here is a word of advice, apply for a credit union.

Bank Of America Salary and Benefits:

1.12 more an hr and have been with the company 4.5 years

Working at Bank of America:

I enjoyed working at Bank of America. My co-workers were friendly and it was a pleasant working environment. Promotions can be hard to come by coming from a personal banking position but overall a good place to be.

Bank Of America Salary and Benefits:

Base salary of 32K. You can earn quarterly bonuses but this can be difficult. The benefits are very good.

Working at Bank of America:

Many employees at BoA feel they are not treated very well which results in high turnover. You are well compensated but expected to put in long hours. They are profit driven to the point of often letting their customers and employees fall to the wayside.

There are some really good people that work here. It is an extremely micro-managed company with an entrenched bureaucracy. If you can deal with that there definitely is opportunity to move up. Decent salary with performance based bonus.
