Working at Bloomingdales:

the store is uncomfortable and warm. they mandate that you have to wear a jacket. i am at the age where i get over-heated very fast. even in the summer when it is 100 degrees, the store has no mercy. i provided a doctor's note stating that i was suffering from dermatitis due to over heating and my manager told me i still had to wear a jacket. they allow young girls to walk around with mini skirts and bare legs. but we middle aged ladies who cannot tastefully afford that level of undress must suffer with being over clothed. they also demand we wear closed toe shoes all year round. i believe it's how they keep the staff young and weed out the mature population.... by making it unbearable for us to work there. i finally resigned and went to niemen marcus where i am allowed to dress appropriately.

Bloomingdales Salary Salary and Benefits:

think about it.... clunky closed toed shoes, long sleeve jackets and sweltering heat all summer long. you will hate it here!

The worst managers, lazy sales persons, LP issues galore, unproductive work environment. You could have bought something 5 years ago and return it today if you have the receipt and ticket. a lot of the stuff there is worn and returned--ick!

unprofessional managers--just a bunch of - who have no business being in a leadership position. the environment is like a scene out of mean girls. more worried about what they're wearing, boys, and coke.

Bloomingdales Salary Salary and Benefits:

Working at Bloomingdales:

On one hand, I learned so much working for this company, for that I am truly grateful. But the cons outweighed the pros, without a doubt. They pride themselves on customer service, yet their policies are so inconsistent you never knew what to tell a customer. The return policy was vague to say the least. Everyone pretty much did whatever they wanted and then we would get yelled at because so many different associates would tell them different things. I would often here comments like "Even Target is easier to deal with" and "they don't do this at Nordstroms". I would never reccommend anyone to work there. They take advantage of the employees, the general manager doesn't do anything, and the assistant store manager is a drunk. all in all, one of the worst jobs I've ever had.

Bloomingdales Salary Salary and Benefits:

the discount was the best part. you could get some really good deals, the problem was they didn't pay you enough to even afford that! Expensive merchandise is still expensive even when discounted and you make $12/hr
