Books-A-Million is a fun & quirky place to work. I have been to many store locations and have loved my coworkers, customers & managers in each store. Pay starting off is minimum wage with a 90 day raise and yearly after that. Like many retail stores, pay is not great- but this company HIGHLY encourages internal advancement for employees who are willing to put in the effort. It is not uncommon for staff members to become district managers or work for corporate in a few years. Benefits are average, and for associates the job is not stressful. I'd say the only real challenge to this job is driving "discount card sales" and "magazine subscriptions". Overall I love working for this company and my fellow coworkers.
