Basically, This company has two branches: one in Idaho and one in wyoming.
I don't know what it is like at the Idaho branch but I DO know what it is like at the Wyoming branch.
I would advise anyone taking this job to not even waste their time.
Here is why:
It should be noted that this were my personal objective experiences with the company. It is not an attack on the company.
First off, we were all lied to in our interviewing process. What this branch (Wyoming)does is spray herbicide and re-seed disturbed areas in the gas well patches of western colorado, wyoming, and northern Utah.
Sounds great right? Lets save the planet and get a paycheck to do it.
Well, thats what I thought.
Here is what this company is like.
-Basically, you have a quota meet. If your equipment breaks such as your truck or spray motor engine (which it always does) you will most likely be fired. If the management at this company does not like you, you will be fired. When they hire you they will tell you that it is okay if you aren't mechanically-minded. But then you will be written up when something goes wrong. The owners of the company also changed out pay rate in the middle of the season a couple times. We went from salaried position at 30,000/yr. with 6 days on and 7 days off, to making something like $10/hr. with 10 days on and four days off all in the name of cutting costs.
They will also offer you a 401K and medical insurance (w/ a $1,000 deductible) but it will only be available to you after 3 or 4 months. Most people working their don't last that long. The workday is also sunup to sundown. This makes for 70-80 hr. weeks. They will tell you that it is slow in the winter. They will most likely fire you rather than lay you off, so they can get away with not paying unemployment.
They have been investigated by the department of Ag. for improper chemical storage.
The town of Rock Springs, Wy is the most ghetto town in the USA and I have been to a few Ghetto towns. The people their are rude and socially withdrawn. Most of Wyoming is a pretty big hole.
This is coming from someone who loves the mts., desert, and the outdoors. But Rock Springs WY is the worst place on earth. The weather is horrible and it is an environmental disaster zone.
I am personally warning anyone considering working with this company to not do it.
30,000 salaried (meaning they can work you as much as they want). benefits are offered, but it is rare that anyone gets to use them.
