This place tries to help a lot of people... But After dealing with a lot of other non-profits... I have noticed that this place turns a lot of people in need away, which is really sad.
This place has the potential to be a better non-profit, trust me it's there. But it just doesn't live up to that quite yet.
This non-profit is associated with the North Richland Hills Baptist Church, and before you associate any stigma attached to such an association, let me tell you: You are definitely correct in associating said Stigma with this facility. They are super religious to the point of reciting soo much Dogma that they actually alienate a lot of people that they could be helping.
I used to work here, and they made us pray at pretty much every meeting... For things like "not being like the Jews".... Also, My direct boss was also a huge office bully, Which made working here a real pain and was eventually the reason I left.
Mandatory Anti-semitic Prayers and office bullies aside, this place does try to help people, succeeds at helping some of them, and should be given credit for it. It also has an awesome Thrift Shop, And it has a Computer Lab that I helped build that is free to use for clients (which I really hope is still there, because that actually helped a lot of people).
My VISTA coordinator apparently did not read my resume because she always addressed me with the Following phrase: "I know you haven't worked in an office before but...". If she had read my resume she would clearly know that I had worked in an office before at the time that I was working there.
I really can't write a good review of this place anymore. I tried doing it on several occasions, I even gave them a 5 out of 5 review once, but after putting up with their complaints about me especially when I am doing things correctly, I can't give them a good review.
