To get ahead you pretty much had to suck up and befriend your boss.
Job security was bad, being so reliable on the auto industry... in this economy, the risk of layoffs is high.
There were weeks without any work, so bring a book.
Really high turnover too.
The work environment was nice, and well-maintained.
The pay was not bad, but there were never raises.
The benefits were manageable.
