Working at Gallup Organization:

As I started with the Gallup Organization, I knew something was wrong. They were paying about 60% of what everyone else in Omaha was. at the time. They bragged about their hiring process, their performance pay, and their philosophies. Their hiring process yields people with the 'right' set of personality traits, rather than those with the experience and work ethic to do the job well. Their performance pay was too constrained around a job description, and when your duties don't conform, you're screwed. Their philosophies were hypocritical, and you have to be part of the three founding families to get anywhere in the company. I'm glad I left at the same time as a lot of other people, and I haven't looked back.

Gallup Organization Salary and Benefits:

Starting salary was 60% of Omaha average (you do the math). Bonuses were about 4% of the base salary, and other perks included feeling guilty for taking a day off, overpriced icky food in the lunchroom, and clueless upper management that would actually threaten people if they 'lost the passion'.

Working at Gallup Organization:

I never I got hired by Gallup but I did have a phone interview with them. They have a very strange and unusual interviewing process. You must give an answer quickly and within a time limit. The time limit is very short. They will just cut you off if you are still talking. You are warned before the interview that this will occur. You cannot ask any follow up questions if you miss something. You can go through half a dozen rounds of interviews with Gallup for this position and others. They have a very specific type of person they look for. I believe they try to purposely rattle you during the interview process to test you. Gallup works in the polling industry so think of it from their perspective. They will ask a lot of questions and they want certain answers to move on to the next round. Not a lot of subjectivity like more traditional interviews. I hope this helps!
