Many pros which include work life balance, compensation, great technical culture, and full of smart people.
Excellent salary and benefits including time off. Work schedule is flexible. Salary is between 75 -90k typically.

IBM is no longer known as one of the best company, as it was used to be known three or more decades ago:
- Job Security is no longer there; "resource actions" are occurring in the background every second, despite the company continue to grow bigger and hoard even more cash. Employees are discarded as toilet papers regardless of their seniority, past contributions or achievements; instead it is all about who is cheaper and who can afford to work longer hours
- Pay is miserably low; top senior and manager contributors (1 and 2+ grades) receive a yearly taxable bonus of $2K averagely ( I can't even afford to treat myself to a week vacation to Disney); yearly salary is normally the lowest when compared to competitors (despite their disclaim that they are competitive and salaries are adjusted frequently based on your geographic location and inflation - potential lawsuit)
- Experience and opportunities are not equal for everyone. There are ZERO interests from Partners or Leads for their consultants to be exposed to as many kind of experience as possible, and ultimately benefit their professional development; instead, as long as you are draining the clients hard-earned money consistently and permanently, you should continue to succumb yourself to the daily monotony tasks
- New College Hires: Please do not be fancied by the brand name of IBM and false promises of a secure promotion. In addition to all the above, you will be subject to the management of resources who are incompetent and inefficient (i.e. Managers with 100 resources); waste hundred of hours on brainless and ineffective trainings and so on and on
-Vacation Time: "You will be told that you are eligible for 15 vacation days" Not True - Vacations are translated as unproductive time, in other words, if a colleague of yours take less vacation days than you, he or she will be more valuable to the company and ultimately deserving higher bonus at the end of the year. In other words, vacations are not encouraged AT ALL, and consultants are normally being asked to forsake their vacation time, because the company might not meet their revenue targets. This has only led to a big mass of burned out consultants, exodus of consultants to competitor companies, and imbalanced lifestyle, just to mention a few
PS - Even if you still decide to join this "wonderful" company, please do not go overboard buying gifts for your loved during the Holiday seasons, your meager bonus and raises (if eligible) will occur on March and July of next year
Current Salary is ~$70K (average salary in the market is above $85k). No vacation time taken this year. No perks

Solid teammates and pleasant environment make IBM ideal in that sense but the salary is below average.
My salary ranges from 70-80k.

Told me I had to live in Virginia for division 16 consulting, but most of my work has been travel based. Have been shipped to division 5 (commercial consulting) several times. Like the multiple project experience but can feel diluted within the large corporation. Decent pay but the pay structure for new college grads has changed and it was very disappointing to learn others (new hires) were making more than me after 2 years of experience. Promotions, are similar to any company. It's all about how well you can write, and not necessary how well you performed.
-Good for First Job as a College Grad
-Job security (College Hires are very cheap) don't worry about being on the bench overrated as a College Hire
-Travel Opportunity (If you like to travel) gets tiring after the 2nd year.
-Good job for 2-3 years to start career, then get hired by another Consulting firm :)
-Vacation is not really vacation. Performance is based on billable hours to the client. Use vacation on your own discretion if you want that to factor into your utilization. If your utilization 120% then feel free to take a month or 2 off from work =) Just for your information, just because they say you get 3 weeks of vacation does not mean you are alloted 3 weeks of vacation
-Bonuses-Lots of free money here, Performance Based, Project Based, Helping IBM Based (I've gotten a lot of free money here)
-Traveling Abroad-Still have yet to travel abroad, but I could very well be getting an opportunity soon.

Too large and bureaucratic for its own good. Very easy to become a number. Work/life balance is good.
Compensation is 56k. Benefits are good.

Pros: Looks good on resume. Future employers will be impressed. It's a global company so there are many different types of opportunities through out the world.
Cons: Jobs being shipped overseas. This leads to low morale and an overworked current staff. Pay is lower than it should be.
Wide range of benefits with a total pay around $84,000.

The work atmosphere is great compared to other consultancies. Here they make an effort to give you work-life balance. You are respected by your colleagues and the company gives you opportunities for advancement along the steps needed to get there. You will be rewarded for your hard work.
