This company has taken penny pinching and bilking the working person to an unprecedented level. Lowest wages of the industry, $3.50 an hour, paid for trip hours only, plus 20% of the trip contract price, the” gratuity” is the only compensation.
Absolutely no other benefits or compensation. Medical benefits can be bought by the employee for 30% higher than fair market value. With a $1000 collision insurance deducible to be paid by the driver for any accident. No shift deferential, no vacation, no retirement, no compensation for waiting hours, that average 4 to 6 hours a day. The well heeled management of this company should be ashamed of themselves for riding the backs of their workers. This company deliberately deceives the client, claiming the gratuity to be included in the total price of the trip contract, but they do not explain that this gratuity is the only compensation the driver will receive for the trip. The well to do corporate clients who frequent King Inc.are even stingier than the company, most don’t tip although they know the driver is paid very little money. I feel sorry for those employees who desperately need their jobs; I keep my position for 14 months because of convenience, and always knew I would leave when I found a better job. This company is a dead end company offering dead end careers to desperate people, and the turn over of employees will testify to the fact. The chauffer industry is very low compensation to begin with, but to work for this company, is a practice of insurmountable, unjustified, tedium. Boycott this company in favor of their competition and show benevolence for the companies who take care of the people who work for them.
