The Aliso Viejo, CA office (West Coast Headquarters) just laid off more people yesterday 11/30. My friend was one of those who lost their job. This company has SERIOUS financial problems and I would avoid it in any form.
Started out as a great place and she was very happy there. Last year, they started laying MANY people and whole departments off, and things started going downhill - everyone nervous about their jobs, workloads tripled as those left in place had to assume the workloads of those laid off. Now, a year later, the layoffs are starting up again.

Lennar is one the largest homebuilders in America and the largest in Houston. They build coast to coast. Lennar was once a really great company to work for. Unfortunately things started going down hill a little over a year ago. I spent many years working in the Houston division but the housing downturn has drastically hurt Lennar.
Cutbacks are rampant. Over 230 people have been laid off this past year. Whole departments have been eliminated. This happens in business sometimes but there have been other changes that make it extremely difficult to make a living selling homes.
Inventory homes are no longer built. Quick move in homes are how sales consultants earn a living since we only get paid when the home closes. The company is skimping on quality fixtures, cleaning, and other things which make selling difficult. They have cut back to the point of making it not possible to do your job properly.
They also instituted an online contract which is very non-user friendly. It's easier for the administrators but close to impossible for customers and sales consultants to use.
It takes hours to complete.
These are just a few of changes that have occurred this past year. When the housing market recovers I do believe that Lennar will once again be a good place to work but until then, I would avoid this builder.
