I wasted a lot of unpaid time doing practice exercises and preparing for the level tests. Then when I finally was on paid time and got paid, I did not get very much in return from the company. I was told that I was going to have 25 to 30 hours a week work for the tax season. After two weeks of 25 hours a week, the company cut me to 2 hours a day which did not justify the commute time and distance back and forth. Then I got 3 hours a week. After mid Feb., I was told that I wasn't needed to be on the payroll except on standby only. I was brought back to one day of 4 hours a day in the middle of March and laid off afterwards in the middle of the tax season. I did not get work for the whole tax season. The few pros were that I did get to meet some people.
$10.00 an hour. No Benefits. No Vacation Time. No Reimbursements.
This is my fourth year working with liberty and I enjoy working for the company as a waver. Im great at my job because I get drivers attention by dancing,waving and fist-pumping anything to make the drivers smile to get through the tough day they endure. the downside of it is that you got drivers flipping you off and staring you down like "you look like a freak" or "I wouldnt be caught dead doing that!" but I just look at them and smile like "im famous,your not so whats it to you" I enjoy what I do everyday and my schedule is great,i work 6 days a week and have one day off. I could never ask for more...
current salary= 8 to 8.50/hr, bonuses:end of season
The employer is predatorial in a lot of ways. They pay their non-management employees very low wages/commissions and the prices they charge their customers are too high. They waste a lot of people's time by not paying for many hours of unpaid training. They're strictly out for the money, not caring much for their employees and customers. They're wrong in hiring inexperienced preparers while refusing to hire some more experienced preparers in order so they could pay less. This is a bad place to have your income tax returns prepared and to work at.
$8.50-$9.00 an hour plus 2% Commission. No Vacation Time. No Bonuses. No Reimbursements.
