Linens and Things was my first job, and certainly opened my eyes to the retail corporate world. There were several managers, all of which were nasty and flat out lazy. They didn't care about employees or customers, making for a negative work environment.
Many of my co-workers were very nice though, which made work a fun experience. Though, I almost never came in because they hired too many people and spread themselves too thin, leaving me to work one or two days a week at most.
Customers varied, as at any retail store, some were lovely and others horrible. My pay rate was $8/hour which was decent, but for the people we had to deal with at times, it should have been more.
I ended up quitting because of the lack of hours, so if you are looking for something extremely part-time (and if you are good with people and social situations like I am) then Linens and Things is worth a shot.
Salary was $8/hour
