lowes 1873 is very unprofessional disorganized our store manager is probably the worst store manager there could be he used to be a manager for home depot and got fired i wonder why, he plays favorites, politics, etc whatever you wanna call it he does not communicate well with his employees one bit except if your on his favorites list, this is only a brief opinion of him probably more then half of store would agree or would have more to add to this opinion
if you call in sick you might as well be asking "could i not come in today" because managers will pressure you to come in anyways regardless of your sickness which makes no sense if we have sick hours were entitled to use them

Forget about having a personal life during the busy seasons. You will work long and hard hours. Not a bad place to have career if you are interested in retail but the retail environment is a difficult one right now. Pay is still good but bonuses are shrinking.

You were long hard hours at Lowe's. Be prepared to work nights, morning, and weekends. It's a good culture that seems much better than home depot. The stores are nicer, cleaner, and they want you to provide good customer service. The most important thing though is your sales numbers and making sure everything runs smoothly including customer service, managing employees, and merchandising. You are going to be moving constantly and doing many things at once. Department managers are definitely the workhorses of the store. Lowe's is definitely a male oriented environment. The associates are very blue collar. If you want to work in a home improvement store then Lowe's is the best choice.
Benefits are good and you get to buy Lowe's stock at a discounted price. Pay is negotiable and takes into account different things like experience. I earned in the very low 30s.
