Working at New York Life:

I was told that I would be trained as a "Finanical Planner." One week was all the training there was for all of us. My GM was a liar. He did not tell me I would have to pay for everything! Direct mail, office phone, everything. My current NYL agent (I am on my fourth agent) has provided the worst finanical advise, in fact, all of them have. Do your own reserach of insurance, stocks, and bonds. Use Scottrade to buy stocks, not NYL's Mainstay Funds (4.00% loads for most funds). Buy term insurance and invest the your money elsewhere.

New York Life Salary and Benefits:

If you have lots of money saved up until you can build up your base ($200,000) and an MBA, do not work for NYL!
