Newell Rubbermaid relies very heavily on hiring recent grads to fill their needs. You usually will go into one of their divisions such as Lowes, Home Deopt, or Sharpie. As a rep you will cover all the stores for your division within a specified geographic region. You will be in charge of merchandising, helping the store manage inventory, rolling out new marketing initiatives, and convincing the store to purchase more product. It can be interesting but the downside is that the majority of your day will spent completing various physical tasks. This includes going up and down a ladder carrying boxes, setting up endcaps (this are very difficult to set up alone..visit a Lowes or Depot and you will see how large they are) restocking shelves etc. Not the most intellectually challenging work. Newell Rubbermaid definitely does not want its employees to rock the boat. If you are the type of person who likes to complete the same specific tasks everyday (there is a checklist) and you want to work with consumer products, Newell is not a bad place to work. If you are the creative type keep looking.
