I worked at Nielsen for a little over 2 years and hated it. In fact, I don't know anyone who has worked from the Bay Area who doesn't feel the same way. In some cases, it's enough to pay the bills (and then some), but you pay the price with your sanity.
Management is incopmetent and often unsympathetic. There culture has admittedly been "what have you done for me lately" or "You're only as good as your last week". It's a terrible pace of work under and a terrible steress. Since you work from home, you have no work colleagues to pass the day with.
Salary is good if you're out of college and decent for anyone with moderate experience of any kind. They supply a company car, laptop and blackberry so you can work from home, but that's how they rationalize to micro manage you. The honeymoon period is short when you first start.
My advice is to stay clear unless you absolutely need a job. It's not a place you'll want to have a career and it's more likely they'll fire you or force you to quit. Save the grief on you resume and land a better job.
