COMMENTS

Perry Homes is a regional homebuilder and one of the largest in the Houston market.
If I had to sum up Perry Homes I would say it is extremely conservative. The founder is a big republican contributor. Their criteria for employment and company culture is bizarre. You cannot own any investment properties and you must have a late model, 4 door sedan. No other homebuilder has this requirement because it's irrelevant. You must wear a suit to work everyday and taking off your coat (man or woman) is big offense.

Perry is very strict with regards to operating procedure. They have no tolerance for mistakes whatsoever. Make a mistake or don’t sell enough and your gone. They don't hold your hand or give you chances. They watch you like a hawk.

The good side to Perry is that they know how to market and they really move homes. If a neighborhood isn’t selling Perry leaves quickly. They don't play around.

COMPENSATION

I don’t think Perry is the best place to work because they are too controlling and will fire you quickly but I will say that the pay is great. They pay a little higher commission than other builders and the homes sell. You'll earn in the high six figures though this may have changed with the recent slowdown. If you are middle age or older, organized, and can follow the rules perfectly, Perry Homes may be a good fit for you. Everyone else keep looking.
