WORK ENVIRONMENT

hierarchical, unprofessional

Working at Project Leadership Associates:

Small IT consulting firm which has grown leaps and bounds over the years. The company seems to be on the right track, however the employees who work here are very self absorbed, from the CEO down. The veteran employees here are EXTREMELY cliquish. If you don't hit it off w/the "cool" people from the beginning, then forget about making it anywhere in this company.

The head HR lady is the Queen Bee of the organization. If you don't get in her good graces from the start, then she will make your life a living hell. And by getting in her good graces I don't mean by just putting in an honest day's work. It more about agreeing with everything she says and never going against her word.

The CEO is socially awkward and doesn't seem to make an effort or even care to get to know his employees. There is so much ass kissing going on here that its kind of sad. The company seems to be doing pretty well financially.

As a consultant you are usually working at a clients site, which is the good part. But there have been times where I had to work in the office which eventually caused me to leave. If you can get a gig here, but spend the majority of your time at a client's site then you'll be fine. But if you will primarily be working in the office, then look somewhere else. Most of the people in the office are not very nice, tons of gossiping going on behind the scenes. Beware of the HR lady!

I forgot to mention that the benefits are just average. The PTO package is nothing to write home about and is actually a little lackluster compared to some other IT companies out there. Oh and they will fight your claim to unemployment even if you are laid off! Very unethical!
