Lots of great people and can be a lot of fun but when it comes to the work there is little in the way of processes which is very frustrating.

Rackspace typically is known for it's fun employee centric culture but honestly this has diminished since the company has gone public. Rackspace just doesn't have the same energy it once did. Don't get me wrong - I still think it's a good place to work with plenty of fun people.
Salary at Rackspace for a software developer will vary quite a bit with experience. With decent experience you'll earn between 70-80k.
Rackspace is nothing more than a bunch of children right out of highschool running around playing Sys Admins. If you would like to have your applications hosted with a company were there is a 50/50 change the Engineer working on it has been drinking on the job, please contact Rackspace right away.
Please do not buy into the bonus program. They will tell you they never miss it, however in my 2 years there we only got it about 20% of the time.
I highly recommend Rackspace to anyone looking for a place to really grow a career. The company is going through some changes due to the current economic situation but Rackspace has plenty of growth ahead of it. It's a smart company with a bright future. The best part of the job are the fantastic people.

I have not been here very long but so far I absolutely love my job here. The work environment is everything that all of my old jobs were not. Fun exciting and just plain enjoyable. Wen i get up for work I'm excited to get there. Plus wearing shorts and flip flops to work is pretty nice.
The benefits here are great. You earn time off as you work so it seems like you always have time to take off. We also have team outings, we take one a quarter and they are so much fun. It is the best way to have team building.

I work more hours in comparison to my previous job, but that's because I enjoy what I am doing.

I have been a Rackspace employee for just about 6 years. Every day that I come in is a new experience for me. Rackspace is true to what they claim to be. They truly care about their employees and the success of their employees. We are what make Rackspace successful. I fell extremely honored to be a part of such a amazing company.
The pay is more than generous as well as the bonuses. You get full benefits and the ability to earn time off from day one of employment. You can work from home if you need to. It is not uncommon to see baby Rackers running around if something should come up unexpectedly.
Now i know why Rackspace was voted one of the top companies to work for. The company has great pay, the best culture, and really cares about their employees. You can even dress casual, which was a big change for me coming from a corporate environment with a suit and tie. Hard to get a job here but definitely worth the try. Lots of potential as the company keeps growing.
The sales division is very competitive and performance-based. Great people, great training and good flexibility in schedules. Everyone has fun at work yet gets down to business. I see myself staying here for quite sometime.
