Brand Management is really cool, you have to be involved in every aspect of the brand to ensure the brand is not cheapened, corrupted, mistrusted, or incredible/not-liked. However, because oil is something we need, not a choice, Shell and other oil companies do not have to be as efficient and productive as companies in industries. Instead, what usually gets you ahead is your political standing within the group, and your articulation. Have you ever seen the movie "Thank you for Smoking"? Anyways, we are encouraged not to think differently, and definitely not to challenge WHY we don things the way we do them. But if you're a conformist or simply follow orders very well, then hey, you'll be okay.
