Working at Subway:

this location is one of the slow ones, but there was always something to do. staff is usually fun, they are what makes or breaks this job. the management is not the best, they are very unclear about what the expecations are and the owner is never there. not a lot of room for advancement. hours are usually what you want, ranging from 4 hours to 7 hours at a time. if someone does not do something, the next person in has to make up for it, which is really frustrating and aggrevating. but if everyone does there part, it is a good place to work. not recommended for older people looking to make a living. high school and college kids would really like it.

Subway Salary and Benefits:

started at $7.25 almost 6 months, or longer, later got a raise to $8. depends what you ask for, usually not just given unless promoted. no vacation time, no "request off" is guarenteed. no bonuses. there are reimbursements if you buy something to benefit the company. only good thing is free food everytime you work!

Working at Subway:

I started this new job with a few years of experience with subway and the managment has never been anything less then slave drivers, I went in with a positive attitude and left with a hair across my butt, managment is awful pay is awful and my raise after 30 days was .15 cents, before all of this i was offered the managers positon because it was open and I was told to start in 2 weeks , came into work the positon was filled without even condsidering me as the manager and i was not told ... the manager now is just another poor sap next in line thinking they were special!
oh and not fliexible with the schedule at all thanks to corprate and trying to do midnight hours for drunken and stones customers.

Subway Salary and Benefits:

8.50 to start only because ive worked subway for a few years previously
not flexible

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working at Subway:

Started this job pretty recently and I have to say, you're stuck in one place but it's worth it. Everyone here starts out at 8.00 and after 30 days we get reviewed for a raise if we're good. Benefits start out on day one and that's a plus. The manager here says that she wouldn't ask you to do anything she won't so you see her out there with the crew helping and showing your the ropes. This is a good job.

Subway Salary and Benefits:

8 starting pay. Benefits. Good Job.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working at Subway:

I worked in several different stores over a span of seven years. Even switched owners a few times. Each store is run a little different as far as getting the job done, but they all are run by HQ which treats everyone like worthless drones. Most Subways don't pay very much and start you at minimum wage. Even with 5 years of experience a started at a store that wanted me to start at minimum wage, saying that everyone starts that low and has to prove their value by the next review. Meaning you have to work for three months before they consider giving you an extra 25-50 cents per hour. No one is guaranteed any amount of hours, unless you are a supervisor or management in which case you have to work a minimum of 40 hours. But they never let you get overtime unless they have no other choice. They constantly call you to work on your days off, and if it isn't busy they send people home early which is sometimes nice for the person leaving, but sucks for the people who are left because they still have to do the chores left by the one who left. If you are working a closing shift you are working by yourself the last few hours, even if it's a dangerous neighborhood or really busy at night. The managers are all poorly trained, and the district managers are total jerks that only look at sales, and hate employees that don't work whenever, whenever, for a low low price. In fact most district managers are alcoholics or drug addicts, and I've never met one that was nice ever. They allow breaks if you worked for over 5 hours, but if they get busy during your break you have to end your break and help on the line. Your break is about 5 minutes even if it isn't interrupted. Customers are also extremely rude at most any location, and unforgiving for the smallest mistake. In the summer it is extremely hot in the store, and you aren't allowed to have fans on you, or prop open a door.

Subway Salary and Benefits:

I got paid as low as $7.50 hourly and as high as $9.50 but only as an assistant manager. You can get benefits but they suck, and you can get paid vacation as a manager. It's usually one to two weeks. Their are better jobs out there that pay better.
