The company should be a fun place to work based on the products, but it isn't. The CEO is sexist and likes to mess with people. He seems to enjoy "stirring the pot" and you will hear that phrase often. It's not playing "Devil's Advocate" but more "How much can I give you a bad time before you crack". You can either get mad and yell or cry but if you don't let him get under your skin, he gets angry and will try to find a way to aggravate you even more. If you are male, you will have an easier time of it than if you are female - unless you are pretty and allow comments and remarks to be made to you that would never fly in a more professional environment. There are some people who work very hard but get little to no recognition for it and there are some who don't seem to deliver but are kept around because the boss seems to find humor in keeping them.
It doesn't matter if you are salaried or hourly, you will be expected to be in the office or assembly line at 8am sharp and not to leave a minute before 5pm (4:30 for assembly - although if you stay later, it's OK but don't think you can come in later...) There is very little flexibility regardless of what they may tell you in the interviewing process, so make sure you take your lunch every day. There's no getting that time back.
The best part of working there is there are some good people. But the culture is very difficult to work around because it starts from the top and percolates down. Customers are considered an after-thought and it's very combative in negotiations. The CEO alternates between acting as if he doesn't care about the operations of the company to micromanaging. In that place, it's best to keep your head down.
