When most people think of TI, they always think about calculators. While it is a big portion of their Business to Consumer market, the company does a whole lot more. They are the largest semiconductor manufacturer in the world. My experience here was straight out of college, and starting here, you wouldn't think that I was a newb. TI gives each employee great responsibility from the get go, so don't expect to come in and play solitaire on your computer for half the day. I was handed the worst programs in a portfolio for 2 quarters straight and told to fix the issues. They don't mess around. It may sound like you would be getting in over your head, but everyone at the company is extremely helpful and willing to lend a hand. The organization is very open door and you can ask anyone anything. This is very refreshing since a lot of companies have numerous levels of "management" and you can't get the time of day with anyone above you. It is extremely easy to get in touch with anyone from TI, from the co-worker down the hall, to a TI Fellow like Gene Frantz, inventor of the "See and Say." All in all, TI is a great place to work. They focus extremely on developing you as an individual, and they don't like to loose talent. They will do their best to retain you, and keep developing you to become a leader within the company. Hiring is usually quite minimal due to the fact that we have a very low turnover rate. I recommend anyone looking for a challenging role and is not afraid to take on large tasks that are very visible to the organization to try this company out.
