WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working at UPS:

I Have been with UPS since march and can't complain. The job is very demanding and does require multi-tasking. Ups is union and one of the only companys that truely believe in everything being seniority based. Meing you start from the bottom and work your way up. The hours are long (8 1/2 to 9 1/2 hrs per day) Monday - Friday. The benifits and pay are great (Thanks to the Union). All benifits are fully paid for by the Company. The only thing that is taking out is taxes and union dues ( 2 1/2 times your hourly wage per month) So now you ask what do drivers make per hour and per year.
Start pay is $16.00 per hour. Then you get another $1.00 raise after your first 30 days. You will then get raises every 6 months until you reach what is call top rate which takes 3 years. Top rate is $30.00 per hour straight time and $45.00 overtime. Did I mention that anything over 8 hours per day is overtime. Most over the drivers I've talk to make between $75,000 - $80,000 per year with overtime. So yes it is hard work but in my opinion well worth it

Ups Salary and Benefits:

75,000 - 80,000
