Although the company has great pay and benefits, it's not worth high stress, unbalanced lifestyle and heavy demands. Late? Fired. Sick? Show up anyway and don't even think of using your sick leave or you will be fired. You had better be there rain, sleet, snow or sunshine and your only time off? Scheduled leave. You are a number and can be replaced. If you want to be treated with dignity and respect? You don't want to work here. I had high hopes when I started, but they were deflated quickly. Quitting was the best decision I made.

Dress is casual, diversity is prevalent, and you work 9-10 hours per day. I would describe the culture as corporate and professional. Limited opportunities for promotion.
Starting salary is in the 50s. Bonus is around 11-13% You will receive a yearly raise around 1-2%. There are no stock options. You start off with 2 weeks of vacation and then 3 weeks of vacation after 5 years.

At Verizon, most decisions are made at executive level which can be frustrating. Anything below executive, you are just following and implementing orders/directives and not doing any sort of real business work. There seems to be many individuals with business degrees but not many with real business talent. Verizon does have decent pay and the benefits are great. Verizon is definitely a 9-5 kind of company. You don’t have to work very hard. The key to making at Verizon is look really busy, do some work and then go home.
