I had always been a customer of WFM, so going to work for them was a no-brainer. The culture is cool and progressive, and the discount is decent at 20%. The health benefits are free after being with the company for a few years, though I didn't quite reach that level as I left for personal reasons. You absolutely have to be in-tune to the team environment idea, and depending on where you work, the job can be extremely monotonous and very physically demanding. However you do get to deal with great customers who are usually very well-educated and knowledgeable regarding their health. The cons are the once-a-month inventories in perishables and quarterly inventories in other departments, which, if you are a manager or a buyer, can be pretty stressful and can give you a sense that your job is on the line. Also, the 20% discount, though only somewhat generous, is not enough for your average team-member who lives paycheck to paycheck.
$12.00 per hour (below company average), cashier's start at $10.
20% team member discount.
All time off is accrued based on number of total hours worked.

High morale and insane benefits.

I love working with Whole Foods. It’s a casual and hip culture that is not only supportive of your career goals but your life goals as well. Whole foods is very team driven so you absolutely have to be a team player to succeed here.
Salary is in the low 40s. The pay is not that great at Whole foods but what you do get is a certain quality of life that you cannot easily get somewhere else.
