Working at Wireless Advocates:

When you start out it is ok but then it eventually wears you down to a point where you hate even stepping foot into a costco. The shoppers at costco are definatly the dumbest and believe they are intitled to make your day bad because they are dumb enough to pay to shop somewhere. Co-Workers are usually great, however Upper-Managment are completely useless and have no idea that Telecommunications is not a Impulse buy and "Everyone is a potential sale" is a load of crap you will usually just be standing there fiddling around. If your part-time the pay is good but you're definatly the one that gets squated on. 20 hours if you're lucky. Build a horrible business culture where employees that bend the rules and steal from grandma are rewarded. DON'T WORK HERE!! IM SURE THEY ARE GOING TO FAIL SOON ENOUGH.

Wireless Advocates Salary and Benefits:

Pros- Decent pay through 6-8 months of the year. Ok if your going to school.
Cons-Managment, District Managment, Training is stupid online courses that teach you nothing, Members at costco (atleast 80% of them) are morons.Dont have the iphone or sprint that would fill gaps in their target market.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Working at Wireless Advocates:

PRO's-
No supervision, Work alone, Free to do other things (homework, read, ect), pay is pretty good for doing absolutely nothing every shift, schedule 3 weeks in advance, Staples crew and management are awesome

CON's-
Management/ Supervisors have no idea about anything that's going on, no one can help you with any issues (ei. AT&T activation site has not been available for one month because the incorrect login has been provided.. called manager he has no idea and told me to call AT&T support and they will not reset any logins with out your vendor code...which none of the staff or management have), they haven't paid me the time and a half REQUIRED BY MA LAW on Sunday's (for the past 5 months mind you). I've spoke to many different people at HQ and they acknowledge the fact that they owe you the money but they make you chase it and send you in circles and I also received RUDE emails from payroll when asking for help on the issue, their advertising and marketing techniques are horrible, they barely give you hours(Part time gets 20hrs MAX ... and thats 2 weeks...so 10 hours a week), pay is every two weeks and your check will never reflect the correct amount, AT&T, Verizon and TMO reps dedicated to your store never answer their phones when you have questions (probably because they've realized WA is a JOKE, 99% of the time you're helping customers navigate staple's, the pre-employment training is horrible- 3 days of an online webinair from home, you learn nothing that you can actually use to navigate all the activation systems, the full time employees that are supposed to help train you in the first few weeks are 90 year old sales sharks and steal all your sales instead of teaching you anything, If your manager makes a mistake on the schedule and have no coverage they tend to take it out on you when you can't cover a shift, upon hire they tell you that you will be working at the store closest to your house and then end up having you work as a floater at 5 different stores that are 20 miles away from you, 2 year contract phones are NOT IMPULSE ITEMS as they will tell you they are, they don't train you on paper work protocols for sales and if you mess up one very very small thing on your sales paperwork they deny your commission, the sales are not competitive at all, if you need health and dental benefits ..don't bother - they don't give you any of that until you've worked there for 6 MONTHS.. I'm pretty sure that's illegal.. It's supposed to be 60-90 days normally.

As you can tell- In my opinion WA is not a company I'd ever want to work for again. I think staple's can do a lot better and have their own mobile solution center. I predict that WA will not last another 6 months in RI MA or CT.

Unless you want a huge headache, don't bother with this company.

Cheers!

Wireless Advocates Salary and Benefits:

From what I've experienced in the last 5 months...Leadership overall is a joke. It's like they just hired a bunch of washed up vacuum sales men and have them manage 10 different stores with no knowledge of anything. Communication is also non-existent. Management should have to go through a lot more training than it shows that they currently have. They should be able to resolve problems in their stores and support their employees, which they never do, they put their work on you when you have an issue and make you call everyone and their mother , only to not find a solution.
